Founded since 2009, International Students Association at Berkeley (ISAB) is the largest international students association on campus.
ISAB strives to provide a positive intellectual and social atmosphere for students from diverse backgrounds. During the semester, we host numerous events and workshops to promote awareness of international culture for the campus community, whilst strengthening Berkeley's multicultural community.
ISAB Core consists of five dynamic committees, each dedicated to their own unique focus and responsibilities.
Organizes the infamous ISAB parties that
cater to international audiences with various themes, including Greek Summer Nights, World Cup, and St. Patrick's Day. Seeks to connect students with the wider Berkeley community through volunteering activities.
Ensures that UC Berkeley is a second home for core members. Coordinates events that focus on maintaining a family such as retreat, banquet, and core member big-little to maintain the social atmosphere of ISAB.
Promotes ISAB and its events through digital media and throughout campus. Maintains the official ISAB website with up to date information and news about how to get involved with ISAB.
Captures precious moments to remember through digital and written content, including high quality photographs and blog posts. Conducts creative projects on TikToks and Reels featuring the broader international community.
Organizes social bonding events for general members, including monthly kickbacks, GM families, trivia nights, and more! Strengthens the bond between ISAB Core and general members.
Organizes professional development events for general members, including OPT/CPT workshops, international careerpanels with experienced alumni, and resume workshops. Partners with the Berkeley Career Engagement Genter to provide major andcareer advice for internStional students.
The External Committee organizes the external ISAB activities that are not limited to the Core or General members of ISAB. Such events include main campus events and fundraisers in order to connect the members of ISAB with the external school community.
The Marketing Committee focuses on advertising all ISAB events and providing insight on international student life at Berkeley. All the while, the Social Media Leads use all this content to engage with the international community at Berkeley and create connections across the world.
The Social Committee will organize activities that bring together both the core and general members and create a welcoming and family-like community. We will plan activities such as ISAB families, iDates, various socials whilst also brainstorming new ways to connect everyone.
The Historian Committee is responsible for the photographic and videographic documentation of professional and social events. Through visual content, it aims to capture ISAB’s true spirit: the club’s formal aspects, the friendships, the multicultural community to which we are all proud to be part of.
The GM Committee (General Membership Committee) provides a great platform for international students to establish a network with alumni and professionals, as well as develop their own professional skills for recruitment / grad school and stay updated with employment policy guidelines.
